Isle of Mull
The Isle of Mull is the 3rd largest of the islands in the Hebrides and is a very
popular visitor destination boasting a fascinating history, geology and natural
history. It has a coastline of over 300 miles, although a small population
of nearly 3000. Central Mull is mountainous and Ben More, its only
Munro (3,169') is a particular favourite for 'Munro Baggers' - as you climb
every inch of the mountain from sea-level.
Mull has an abundant wildlife - both fauna and flora, and this is a strong
attraction for visitors; land and sea based wildlife trips are available -
including Whale watching. Mull's world famous geology attracts both
professionals and amateurs alike and day trips can be taken with local
geologists.
For the younger visitor, a visit to Tobermory, the home of 'Balamory' is a must!
